* Speaker: Pastor Ambrose Nwogu
* Topic: God with Us
* Text: Luke 19:10 → "For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost."
* Abundant life consists in being saved through Jesus
* Acts 4:12 → "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved."
* Matthew 9:13 → "But go and learn what this means: 'I desire mercy, not sacrifice.' For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners."
→ Salvation has to do with repentance
* Jesus came to call the sinners unto righteousness
* Salvation has a powerful connection with repentance
* Repentance entails becoming aware and acknowledging one's sin and deciding to turn away from it
* This salvation (that Jesus offers) is for every one
* Jesus' salvation is not by force. There is no compulsion
* Every one that wants the salvation that Jesus brings must ask, seek and make an attempt
* The city of Jericho
→ There was a curse on the land of Jericho
*Joshua 6:26 → "And Joshua adjured them at that time, saying, Cursed be the man before the LORD, that riseth up and buildeth this city Jericho: he shall lay the foundation thereof in his firstborn, and in his youngest son shall he set up the gates of it."
* 1st Kings 16:34 → "In his days did Hiel the Bethelite build Jericho: he laid the foundation thereof in Abiram his firstborn, and set up the gates thereof in his youngest son Segub, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by Joshua the son of Nun."
* Jesus entered Jericho because there was still a curse on the land
* It is only in Christ that every curse is broken and destroyed forever
* Colossians 2:13-15 → "And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
