SUNDAY SERVICE
@ Evangelical Church of West Africa (ECWA),
(now Evangelical Church Winning All)
Airport, Abuja - Nigeria
31st May, 1998

* Speaker: Pastor Allahyayi
* Topic: Prayer
* Text: Isaiah 38:1-6

* Prayer is communicating with God.

* God has commanded His Children to pray continually

* Through prayer, Hezekiah touched the throne of God and he was healed from sickness

* Prayer is the medium by which the impossible become possible

Romans 8:26-27 →"Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God."

* Prayer can change the hand of God

1st John 5:14-15 → "And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him."

Matthew 7:7 "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you."

John 1:12"But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name."

* God has given us rights and promises that can only be appropriated through prayer

2nd Chronicles 7:14"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."

John 14:13 →"And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son."

John 16:23-24 →"And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full."

* You should always pray quoting important verses of the Scriptures
