God with us (Pastor James Ajayi) 18-03-2015

NDIC/DMO Chapel
Central Business District,
Abuja, Nigeria
18th March, 2015

* Speaker: Pastor James Ajayi
* Topic: God with us
* Text: Luke 19:3 - "He wanted to see who Jesus was, but because he was short he could not see over the crowd."

* When God is with you, everything will be alright

* You must strive to ensure that the Lord is with you

* Note: Zaccheus' desire was just to see Jesus and nothing more. Jesus saw his heart and gave him more than that - He got salvation & personal fellowship with Jesus!

* What is your desire?

→Blind Bartimaeus desired to see Jesus
→ Jesus is always ready to attend to you and grant your heart's desire

* Note: anytime you try to press towards Jesus, the 'crowd' will always be present to discourage you

* You must always persevere and not allow anyone or anything to discourage you

* Note: the same crowd that tries to discourage you will come to you if they notice that your breakthrough is close
- (Mark 10:49 - And Jesus stopped and said, “Call him here.” So they called the blind man, saying to him, “Take courage, stand up! He is calling for you.”)

* God knows your desire but he wants you to:
→ Cry out to him
→ Reach out to Him in faith
→ Be specific in your request

* Note: Blind Bartimaeus approached God in faith and he got his miracle

* Mark 10:52: "And Jesus said to him, “Go; your faith has made you well.” Immediately he regained his sight and began following Him on the road."
→ After getting your miracle, remember to follow and serve Him
→ You are saved to serve God and be a blessing to others

* We all have our limitations - we are 'short' and 'blind' (like Zacchaeus and blind Bartimaeus), but we should come just as we are

* You are most miserable if you think you do not need Jesus

God with us - Overcoming Indecision (Pastor Ambrose Nwogu) 09-03-2015

NDIC/DMO Chapel
Central Business District,
Abuja - Nigeria
9th March, 2015

* Speaker: Pastor Ambrose Nwogu
* Topic: God with us
* Sub-Topic: Overcoming Indecision
* Text: Luke 19:1-5

* What steps must we take to have a definite encounter with Jesus?
1. You must have the desire to encounter Him
→ The journey to starting a personal relationship with Jesus starts with a desire to know Him more intimately

2. You must be determined
→ There are always hurdles

3. You must persevere
→ You need endurance to continue and finish well

4. You must be decisive
→ If you Want to have a touch from Jesus, you must not be undecided or in quandary
→ You must never waver or stagger in your quest to 'see' and encounter Jesus
→ The moment the Holy Spirit puts a thought in your heart concerning what to do, you must act immediately
→ You must always act in faith
→ Indecision will always bring you down
★ Judges 5:15-17 (The tribe of Reuben was indecisive on whether to join Deborah in the battle or not)

→ You must make the best of every opportunity
→ You must take a decisive step for the Lord

→ Luke 9:62 - "Jesus replied, "No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God."

→ Many people have lost great opportunities because of indecisiveness

Prayer:
Father, stabilise my faith
Help me to be resolute for you
in all matters

God with Us (Pastor Ambrose Nwogu) 17-02-2015

NDIC/DMO Chapel
Central Business District,
Garki, Abuja - Nigeria
17th February, 2015

* Speaker: Pastor Ambrose Nwogu
* Topic: God with Us
* Text: Luke 19:10 → "and the Son of Man has come to seek and to save the lost."

* John 10:10 → "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full."

* What Abundant life Entails
1. Salvation
→ A man cannot experience abundant life outside Jesus (until he/she is saved)
→ The condition of man was lost, therefore, the master came Himself to seek and to save man

* 1 Timothy 1:15 → "Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners--of whom I am the worst."

* Acts 4:12 → "There is no salvation by anyone else, for there is no other name under heaven given among people by which we must be saved.”

* Jesus Came to Offer:
1. Salvation from sin:
→ Jesus changes our desires so that we do not yield to fleshly lusts

→ When a man is saved, his desires & choices are focused on how to give God praise and thanks
* Matthew 1:21 → "She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins."

2. Salvation from Destruction:
→ Sin leads to destruction
* Romans 6:23  → "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."

3. Salvation from guilt
→ A sinner runs when no one pursues him
→ Guilt erodes confidence
→ When Jesus saves you, he wipes off the guilt that is caused by sin in our hearts
→ when your guilt has been erased by Jesus, Satan cannot accuse you any longer
