* Speaker: Pastor Sarah Omakwu
* Topic: The Deity of Jesus Christ 3 (Our Jesus, No Ordinary Birth)
* All the names in the above passage were an amazing calculation before the world was created
→ It was a plan: none of them was happenstance
★ Genesis 49:10 →"The scepter shall not depart from Judah, Nor a lawgiver from between his feet, Until Shiloh comes; And to Him shall be the obedience of the people." [NKJV]
★ Isaiah 9:6-7→"For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this." [NKJV]
* NOTE: Jesus did not just come like any religious leader.
→ He came by prophesy & the prophesy came from God
* There is no prophesy that came in details foretelling the birth of any other religious leader in the world
* Jesus did not wake up one day, gathered pieces of philosophy and declared himself as prophet
* Everything Jesus did was according to plan by order and by command of God
* The coming of Jesus was planned before the foundation of the world
☆ What is a Prophesy?
→ A foretelling or prediction of what is to come
→ It is something that is declared by a prophet
→ It is a divinely inspired prediction, instruction or exhortation
→ It is a divinely inspired utterance or revelation
→ It is a prediction that was said years before it was fulfilled
* There were many prophesies associated with the Birth of Jesus
* NOTE: Even for you, there was a prophesy concerning you
→ see: Jeremiah 1:5
→ All your days are recorded in a book even before you were born (Psalm 139:16)
→ Things may not look good or be working fine for you at present, but if you stay with the plan [of God], it will all work out for your good
→ God is faithful
* The fulfillment of the prophesies [concerning Jesus] demonstrate:
1. The infinite knowledge, wisdom and power of God
→ When God says a thing, He has the capacity to make it happen
2. That God is a God of Precision
★ Isaiah 46:9-10 →''Remember the former things of old, For I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like Me, Declaring the end from the beginning, And from ancient times things that are not yet done, Saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, And I will do all My pleasure."
* The good thing about a good God is that He cannot do anything bad
* God orchestrates events in history and in life to ensure that his counsel stands
* A prophesy shows the reliability of scriptures which do not come from men but are sent by God
* Don't doubt the Bible!
→ If God is able to move things to ensure that what He said comes to pass, He is surely going to fulfill His word concerning you
★ 2 Peter 1:21 →"for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit." [NKJV]
* NOTE: Everything prophesied concerning Jesus did not come by man;
→ men prophesied as they were inspired by God
* Many prophets spoke within a span of 1,000 years about the birth of Jesus Christ through the anointing of the Holy Spirit
* Everything the prophets prophesied came to pass!
* God is great, mighty and awesome.
→ He can do things that we cannot even fathom. Unbelievable!
☆ THE PROPHESIES ABOUT THE BIRTH OF JESUS CHRIST:
1. He is the 'Seed' of the Woman
★ Genesis 3:15 →"And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel.” [NKJV]
→ NOTE: the 'Seed' here refers to Jesus Christ
→ The 'Seed' was being sought after in every birth since creation with the aim of destroying it [Exodus 1:22; Matthew 2:16]
* NOTE: The egg of Mary, and the sperm of Jesus did not have anything to do with Jesus
→ It was the Word of God that the Holy Spirit acted upon to produce Jesus Christ in the flesh
2. He will be a descendant of Abraham
→ God factored you in the scheme of things!
→ It is through Jesus Christ that we [Gentiles] became a part of the Covenant of God with Abraham
3. He will come from Isaac
4. He will be of the tribe of Judah
→ 'Shiloh' is a Messianic title for the Seed of the Woman; It also means 'peaceful' and 'peacemaker'
→ Before Jesus Christ came, God had already factored your peace into these prophesies
* See: Colossians 3:15
→ peace will not just come to you: you have to 'let' it
5. He will be born in the Family of Jesse
★ Isaiah 11:1, 10
* In these prophesies God thought about everything concerning:
→ your birth
→ your peace
→ who will rule & govern you over you
* These prophesies point towards the superiority of Jesus Christ
6. He will come from the House of David
* NOTE: In your gene somewhere, there is royalty
7. He will come by Virgin Birth
★ Isaiah 7:14 →"Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel. [NKJV]
8. He will come from Bethlehem
★ Micah 5:2 →"But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, Though you are little among the thousands of Judah, Yet out of you shall come forth to Me The One to be Ruler in Israel, Whose goings forth are from of old, From everlasting.”
* NOTE: Everything you are going through is all in the plan of God and it will all make sense one day
→ Nothing is out of turn or out of order: it is all in the plan
10. He shall be preceded by a Forerunner
★ Isaiah 40:3 →''The voice of one crying in the wilderness: “Prepare the way of the Lord; Make straight in the desert A highway for our God."
11. He shall be presented with gifts by Kings and Shepherds
★ Psalm 72:9-11 →"Those who dwell in the wilderness will bow before Him, And His enemies will lick the dust. The kings of Tarshish and of the isles Will bring presents; The kings of Sheba and Seba Will offer gifts. Yes, all kings shall fall down before Him; All nations shall serve Him."
12. There will be wailing and Lamentation
★ Jeremiah 31:15 →"Thus says the Lord: “A voice was heard in Ramah, Lamentation and bitter weeping, Rachel weeping for her children, Refusing to be comforted for her children, Because they are no more.”
→ There was weeping and mourning when women cried for their slain babies in Matthew 2:16
* All these fulfilled prophesies point to the fact that the Bible is authentic and Jesus Christ is authentic
13. That Jesus will be taken to Egypt
★ Hosea 11:1 →"When Israel was a child, I loved him, And out of Egypt I called My son."
* NOTE: All these fulfilled prophesies make Jesus superior to anyone who claimed He was sent by God
☆ CONCLUSION:
* God carefully selected how Jesus came so that you can connect yourself to it
→ If He came through Holy means, you are Holy
→ If He came through rich means, you are rich
* We are from a divine heritage;
We are a royal priesthood, a Holy nation;
We are from the true blue blood of Heaven
We are not ordinary people;
We are people of promise;
★ Galatians 3:8-9 →''And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel to Abraham beforehand, saying, “In you all the nations shall be blessed." So then those who are of faith are blessed with believing Abraham."
* NOTE: You are not ordinary! You did not come by chance, you came by prophesy
→ When God was bringing Jesus forth, He factored you in
→ You are en-grafted into the genealogy of Abraham
* You must stop walking around as if you are cursed orphan
→ You are a child of Abraham and the Bible calls you blessed
→ You are a God-person: You do not belong to the economy of the world
* God knew that the devil will be running in rampage, He connected you with Abraham
→ Every thing you need in life has been provided for you through the blessing of Abraham
* In your bloodline, there is nothing that defeats, nothing that fails, nothing that is small
* Your bloodline:
→ is victorious
→ is prosperous
→ is successful
→ defeats the devil everyday
→ never takes 'no' for an answer
→ goes from glory to glory, strength to strength, victory to victory
☆ DECLARATION:
"I am of Faith, therefore, my name is blessed;
I am blessed.
I may not look like it,
I may not feel like it,
But that does not have anything to do with anything.
I am Blessed with believing Abraham."
