MY SERMON NOTES
@ NDIC/DMO Fellowship
Central Business District,
Garki - Abuja
19th April, 2016

*  Speaker: Pastor 'Lola Owotumi
*  Topic: Mischievous Madness (15)
* Text: Proverbs 23:33 →"Thine eyes shall behold strange women, and thine heart shall utter perverse things."

Luke 6:45 →"A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of."
Question: What is in your heart?

* What is in your heart controls your life and eventually determines your destiny

* What is in your heart is revealed when you are under duress or pressure

* One would not expect anything in the heart of a believer other than Jesus and the thoughts of Heaven

* When you open your mouth and speak, many things are revealed about you - consciously or otherwise

2 Peter 2:10 →". . . and especially those who walk according to the flesh in the lust of uncleanness and despise authority. They are presumptuous, self-willed. They are not afraid to speak evil of dignitaries. . . "

* Whenever you come in the house of the Lord, you must watch what you utter with your mouth
→ Gossiping, cynicism, complaining and backbiting must be far from you

* Leave the judgement of dignitaries and those in authority (spiritually and physically) to God [See: Romans 2:1;]
Romans 14:4 → "Who are you to judge someone else's servant? To their own master, servants stand or fall. And they will stand, for the Lord is able to make them stand."

* You must not be a talebearer in Church

* A minister of the Gospel must not misuse his privileged position to discourage others by his utterances or attitude

* You must bridle your tongue.
James 1:26 → "Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless."

* Covenant Confession:
"My mouth shall not speak perverse things.
Help me O God!"
